I have been an avid follower of the MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN NIGERIA and it's past winners for way over a decade. And it's always an exciting moment and adrenalin rush moment within that thirty seconds of "the most beautiful girl in Nigeria is"… I really miss those moments, and my reason is very obvious,simply because i'm not excited about the contestants anymore. What happen to the eyes that picked up the likes of Bianca Onoh Ojukwu who was crown in 1988.

For me she was and still is the most beautiful Queen produced by the organizers of MBGN and the most beautiful Queen Nigeria has ever produced. Other stunning beauties in no particular order were Regina Askia with the natural blue eyes who took over in 1989 from Bianca Ojukwu but later on made a mark in Nollywood,[remember palace and Most Wanted?].
And handed over to one of the classiest and most stylish women in Nigeria, Adenike Oshinowo-Soleye who reigned from 1990 to 1991.
Nike then was crowned by Sabrina Umeh,wife of designer Kesse Jabari. Till date,Nike Oshinowo is still every inch a past Queen of repute. Another beauty was Mitilda Kerry who was deliciously and beautifully made by God for Nigeria. She can also be called the millenium Queen as she bridged the gap between the old school and the new school so to speak.
She was such a beauty at that time and i really want to see her current look. Chinenye Ochuba was another effortless beauty who rocked the MBGN crown in 2000 to 2002.

Two beauty Queens who were equally beautiful were Munachi Abii,MBGN 2007 who is fining a ground in music today and Adaeze Igwe,MBGN 2008 who is married to Nigeria's football captain Joseph Yobo.

Its such a honor to wear the MBGN crown for one year and these women have used it to make a name for themselves in one way or the other.

But then i think that as a beauty Queen,one should be like a Queen in all aspect even after handing over the crown to her successor. Two ex-beauties i will always give it to anytime will be Adenike Oshinowo-Soleye and Lynda Chuba Ikpezua for maintaining their class,style and glamour for years. |

But amongst all these,there is what i call an outstanding beauty and that will be no other than Ms Agbani Darego who was the most beautiful girl in Nigeria in 2001 and moved on to win miss world in that same year making her the first black African to win the Miss World beauty pageant.

It is really sad to see the faces that end up representing Nigeria at the miss world pageant in the past years. Where is our beautiful black hair and flawless dark skin? Every MBGN contestant in these past years want to wear the latest brazi-ogbomosho-lian and mongo-mushin-lian hair on their head with faces painted like masquerades to castings and the judges pick them?

I got the pictures of the 2012 contestants of the most beautiful girls in Nigeria and after viewing them,i fell back to sleep. Can someone prove to me those girls are all between 18 and 23 years of age?

I'lld really love to know the criteria of picking this girls,and how come 90% of these girls are from the east?does it mean each state can't actually produce a representative? The MBGN if continued in this manner will completely lose its glory.
I guess the beautiful girls in nigeria are really not encouraged to develope interest for beauty contests, well I wish these girls luck.

I guess the reason why most of the gals are from the south- east is because in Nigeria things are never done the right way, like going to each state to get pretty gals, Ibo gals need the MBGN platform to attract footballers to marry them...#justsaying... But Miss abuja is cute though.

this brazi-ogbomosho-lian hair is really getting out of hand. these girls are damn uglyyyyy. i think that miss rivers and miss bauchi are quite attractive. miss abuja is also fine except that she looks older that 25. but miss benue is not suppose to be there. miss delta should probably have a kid or two. no hard feelings ladies, just what i think. this years contest is not really enticing
